Dr. Lucille W. Ijoy is an educator, motivational presenter, conference and retreat facilitator and radio personality associated with WURD Radio in Philadelphia, PA. She holds three degrees in education: B.S. from St. Joseph’s University and Med and Ed.D. from Temple University.

She is a Family and Marriage Therapist, a Certified Mediator and the author of several books including Cultural Diversity in the Work Force: A Two-Day Training Plan; Creative Discipline: Skills for Calm, Confident, Peaceful, Wholesome Parenting; Family Therapy Moments With Ijoy:& 70-82, A Bunch of Living for Women to Do.

Her latest productions are two spoken word/musical meditation and motivation CD’s. Thirty Minutes Toward Tranquility, A Healing Time With Ijoy: A Time to Listen ; WiseWildWonderfulWomen Know:Kicking-it-out and Slowing-it-Down; Sane Sanity for Regular People: Healthy Strategies for Everyday “Stuff”; and a CD on Diversity/Inclusiveness entitled: “At-Table”.

Ijoy was the first Chief-of-Staff for Philadelphia City Council and the Executive Director
for the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy. She is a Relationship and Diversity Training Specialist, having been the keynote speaker at seminars and workshops for a wide-range of intergenerational audiences, including business, academic, civic and religious gatherings. Her volunteer work includes Wissahickon Hospice and the Intergenerational House of Hope and Friendship. She is a member of the Delaware Valley Association of Black Psychologists and a graduate and member of the Family Institute of Philadelphia. Her motto for families: Let Your Children Fly. For everyone she says: Live Your Mission With Passion and Compassion.
